Since 2016 I have seen a lot more hateful comments on my photos. Since 2020 I have been saying “even sunsets are political” due to the hateful comments. I take these photos for work, it is my hobby and it is wild how people just want to hate others they do not know. My brain keeps going back to “I wish these people would mind their own business.” That being said, I created a fake label put it on a pill bottle, and created this little video in the style of some pharmaceutical ad mainly for laughs, but maybe some people will think before they make hateful comments online.

Every year, I capture photos of Pride month events in Seattle for work and attend because it is fun, and I support the LGBTQIA+ community. And every year, people appear in the comments saying horrible things, and it always turns out they live nowhere near Seattle. I have had some awful things said to me over the years and I could only imagine the hate members of the LGBTQIA+ feel. With that all being said, people should focus on their own lives and mind their own business. And yes I did create this Mind Your Business dietary supplement bottle to make videos with.

Also, I really think more people need to read Neil Postman’s Amusing Ourselves to Death and learn about how news is now entertainment. A lot of what we see are non-actionable events where people cannot take meaningful action. This often leads to hate towards others who are different than us that serve no purpose.
